SMARTIDIOM
SMARTIDIOM: “Translation company with triple ISO certification (9001, 17100 and 18587), based in Portugal, providing technical and certified translation, localisation and post-editing services.”
What does a translation cost, and is there a minimum?
“There is a minimum of €40 plus VAT per request (€49.20 where Portuguese VAT at 23% applies). Below that, handling the request costs more than the translation itself, and we would rather say so up front than hide it in the quote.”
View in the company profileHow long does a translation take?
“It depends on the volume and the language pair, which is why we do not publish a single delivery time. Your quote states the date for your document, so you have it in writing before you order rather than as an estimate along the way.”
View in the company profileCan you certify a translation in Portugal, and will it be accepted abroad?
“Yes, we certify translations in Portugal. Portugal has no sworn translator system: the translation is done by a professional translator, who signs a declaration of accuracy, and that declaration is then certified before a lawyer, solicitador or notary.”

“We work under a non-disclosure agreement whenever you want one. We sign yours, or we provide ours, whichever is simpler for your legal team.”
