   • Primary English Foundation: writing and literacy scope

The British Council’s Primary English Foundation course is designed for P4–P6 learners who are new to English or need a stronger foundation. It develops foundation-level reading, writing, listening and speaking, with phonics, vocabulary and reading comprehension also included. Writing work includes learning to write simple sentences; creative projects such as posters, name cards and shoebox rooms give learners ways to express ideas. The course is a broad English foundation programme, not a writing-only class, and the published description does not set out P4 composition genres or how written work is assessed and returned.

   关于 British Council 英國文化協會

Primary group-course environment: For P1–P6 learners, the British Council describes lively group classes led by professionally qualified teachers, with individual attention and support in a safe classroom environment. Children practise English in pairs and groups and take part in activities on familiar, real-life topics; the broader children’s-course approach emphasises confidence using English in real life in a safe, nurturing and playful setting. Tailored small-group alternative: For families who specifically want a smaller format, the Council also offers tailored private English lessons for children and young people. Its small-group option is suitable for two to three students; a pre-course consultation informs a flexible plan based on the learner’s goals, with options to study at a Council centre, a specified location or online. The published description does not promise a particular approach for hesitant speakers, so families can use the consultation to discuss the child’s speaking confidence and learning aims.
